Particularly great when Hall's Last Call plays music on the porch...
Best Mexican food we've had since we arrived in Texas!
Good food seems like the chili con queso is always out. Waitresses could show more enthusiasm and smile often
Horrible service. We came before heading out for a star party at the observatory. Took so long !!! Food was mediocre at best. Don't waste your tourist dollars on this hole in the wall. No sense of urgency to get food out.
The food was delicious. Wonderful employees
Prices were fine and the people were nice. They were the only place open on a Monday evening, but the taste of the food wasn't as good as most other Mexican restaurants I've been to around the state. It just tasted generic, nothing special. The only thing that stuck out was the saltiness of the chips & salsa.
This place was awesome. The food was great and the service was ever better.
Good Mexican food. Great service. Nice place for a small town.
One of the few restaurants in Fort Davis. Usually pretty good unless you catch them when the food delivery hasn't been made yet and they're out of everything...
We went there this evening because we liked the outside appearance. Then we loved our food! There were five of us who ordered different items and they were all very tasty and plentiful. My chile relleno had perfect thin crispy batter and perfect proportions of mild green chile to cheese. Good service too.
My favorite Tex Mex in the Tri-City area (Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis). Many places to eat come and go in this town, but Cueva has been here a long time, and from the business looks to be staying. In fact, the turnover at other places helps this place. When a place like Pop's or Murphies goes under or changes name / food, Cueva soldiers on. One reason is that the food is really good: The Cheese enchiladas and chicken Fajita Nachos are my go-to. Quality that stays over the years: Been coming here for 12 years and it has stayed consistently good. The other thing is that the folks that work here are nice and small town friendly.
Saturday night buffet is great local Mexican food at it's best!
The Mexican food in the buffet is sooo good!Like home cooking.
Not much of a salad bar, but the food was good. Our waitress was very nice, but very busy.
Food is great but little over priced in my opinion
Great little place. They don't serve alcohol but you can run across the street and grab what you need. They don't mind. The salsa was really good and then our chile rellenos came: the best I've ever had. Seems like half the guests ordered chile relleno or burgers. Worth a stop. I'll be back.
Small Tex-Mex place. But excellent. Not to be missed.
The food is simple n good, they have a lunch buffet on saturday, Price is very reasonable, and the ambience is like you feel that u r walking into a mexican home.over all a very satisfying experience.
The food was mediocre and the service was not great. The sweet hostess that just started was the bright spot In our visit.
Good food and very pleasant atmosphere with evening live music.
Only restaurant open Wednesday nights but worth the stop any other time. We got the quesadillas which were big enough to feed two. They were busy but never particularly waited for anything. Service and food were good. We will go back again the next time we are in Fort Davis.
I had the green chicken enchiladas with a taco. It was fresh and just the right amount of spice. Very flavorful. They had a buffet too but I didn’t try it. Nice place!
Sorry but Service was bad took over an hr to get our order ready food not so good, we pay too much for what we got our order was a been burrito kids menu $5 cheeseburger $10, order of chicken strips $5, 2 orders of cheese Fries $4 each and 5 drinks.! Total to $40.00
Didn't even get to order.Seated ourselves as the sign at the front instructed us to.10 mins pass with two waitresses continuing to pass us by.Stop one of them to ask about service and we were quickly and rudely shut down with a hand in our face telling us they she would get to us when she could.Go somewhere else.
Amazing Mexican food stop in Fort Davis. By far the best ground beef taco I have eaten at a restaurant. Friendly staff. Great food.
Excellent food here and great service. You pay and experience the small town ambiance in this restaurant. I personally recommend the catfish, yes it is the middle of the desert and yes it's catfish but this was one of the tastiest I've had. My fiance loved the burger she ordered so I had to order a second and it did not disappoint. Overall a great experience.
The staff was friendly and efficient but the food was bland, over cooked, dry, the best thing on our plate was the toast bread and the chips and salsa.Maybe we should not order seafood at a Mexican restaurant.
Great value, generous portions, quick service and friendly staff. The other place in town did us a great service by failing to honor our reservation and leaving this to find this gem. Will come back here first next time! BYOB and there’s a shop conveniently right across the street.
I wanted to order something to go and they only had 3 options for to go orders: chicken fried steak, cheese enchiladas and bean & cheese burrito. Disappointed but not only that, I went with the burrito because I thought that it’ll be big. Boy was I wrong. It was a tough tortilla with half mashed beans spilling out of it with a little bit of cheese on top. 😂🤦🏽♀️ This was so bad.
Look I eat at alot of places n know what's great or not. N this was a 10 great job
Good Tex-Mex. Excellent chicken fajita burrito! Make sure to BYOB.
Very good food, they are shortstaffed so you will have to keep that in mind when going there.
Pretty good place to eat like the people there
Great TexMex food! A must stop after you visit Fort Davis historical site.
The nachos are very delicious!
Delicious Mexican buffet with friendly service!
Food was really good value, with generous portions. The rice especially was excellently flavoured. No alcohol on sale though, but we were invited to visit the store opposite if we wanted to bring any in.
Good service! Like to go thur they got live music. Enjoy the food!
Place needs upgrading in some areas. The food is ok.
Great prices, good food, good service. Smallish buffet offering but good menu if the buffet does not suit you.
Best food of all the places we ate at in Fort Davis.....
Really delicious food and the service and the band was awesome & big portions
Tonia remembered us after one visit. One visit. We felt so special. And, I might have her name wrong, but I will not forget that smile. The taco salad was so amazing we went back the next day for more. All the rest of the food also was amazing. Huge portions of extremely fresh, well-seasoned dishes. All served by friendly, beautiful, wonderful people. I wouldn't mind moving to Fort Davis if I could eat with them once a week. Ok. Once a day. Ok. I want to work there, too. And, at the drugstore. I didn’t think it would be good for some reason. I was surprised. The food had good flavor. Their menu was limited but they had a buffet. The buffet was fresh and food kept coming out. My favorite items was beef fajitas, rice, and green enchilada. Chips and sala was good. As well as guacamole. They had apple filled fried flauta with cinnamon for dessert on buffet. They were delicious. We would go again.
GREAT lunch buffet. Friendly place.
Nice little Mexican restaurant. BYOB and the food is good. Take a minute and enjoy
Very disappointing! The queso was cold, the service was extremely slow (60 min. wait and we never received the nachos) and the hostess screamed at us when we requested the check. We can not in good faith recommend this place to anyone. Sadly, a HUGE disappointing lunch in Ft. Davis!
Waited an hour to get food. Three different tables that came in after us were served. I think there were more flies inside than out. Finally got our food and it wasn't even that hot. The tortillas seemed to be store bought. I guess a red flag would be waiting to be acknowledged by anyone for 10 minutes. And the children working there. Literal children. But I guess you can do that in a family-run business. Save your time and money and find another place in town if you can.
Great food. Service a little slow considering size of lunch crowd (small). Recommended.
Food was different then what I am used to. Was somewhere different to eat in a small town.
